The hurricane season process is well underway, but as long as coastal areas remain very dynamic

Some cities and counties have started to take note

Seminole County and Sanford: Sand filling sites opened

Seminole County and Sanford announced Friday that landfills will open this weekend

As the wait for the Invest 93L grows, it is likely that it will head to Florida

There is still much unknown about the weather system, making it a possibility that it could impact Florida next week

Seminole County's Sand Filling Works Prologue will open Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Boomba Sports Complex

The City of Sanford provided sand-fill locations for its residents to prepare for possible coastal (tornado) impacts

The City of Altamonte Springs will be providing sand and bags at the referenced locations on August 27 and 28 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The City of Winter Springs will provide sandblasting sites at Central Winds Park on August 26 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Osceola County announced Friday that it does not plan to distribute sand at that time
